SSL and Microsoft® FrontPage® 98 Accounts
The SSL secure server can be accessed by any FrontPage or UNIX account, and will allow the information taken down on a form to be processed securely. The SSL cannot function correctly on a page with FrontPage web-bots included. This means that FrontPage users can use the secure server, but cannot use the Form-Bot, or any other Web-Bot, in conjuction with the SSL to set up the online selling area for the account. The Form-Bot will not work correctly when using the 'https' reference needed for the SSL to function. To set up a secure form with your FrontPage account, you will have to use a standard Perl script and a standard HTML form to take down any encrypted information. Simply use FrontPage or another web editor to create a form in HTML format with the fields you want to use for the ordering page, and upload it using FrontPage. Then you will need to upload the script to your CGI-bin. You can write your own script, use one found on the internet, or use the mailform script-creation utility on your stats page (at www.yourdomain.com/stats). Please see our UNIX account support area for more information about SSL access, scripting, and file permissions. For more assistance, please call Technical Support at 954-429-3449 between the hours of 9 AM and 10 PM Eastern, or E-Mail us. Although our technical support personnel do not provide assistance for the FrontPage software itself, we do make sure the extensions are functioning correctly on your account. Also, you can access technical support documents directly from Microsoft at this location. |
